You could say, "just map to different keys," but 1) my setup is the most comfortable for me, and 2) that's not a good solution for a most basic problem that shouldn't even be happening. The controls work just fine when using Duckstation core through Retroarch, but I hate Retroarch with a passion! Any time I try to adjust something, Duckstation crashes to the point that I have to reinstall and then reconfigure everything again! After doing that over three times, I've given up on Retroarch. I've tried asking on forums, subreddits, and even the official GitHub page itself, and no one's replied. Any AutoHotKey script I've tried to fix this stops the use of the Ctrl button altogether. And sometimes, if I jump and then hold Ctrl to shoot, I'm locked in a jumping motion until I press jump again to cancel out of it. For example, if Ctrl is shoot and Alt is jump, I can't jump if I'm already holding down shoot. Now, if your using the GL renderer, only GLSL Shaders work. If you launched retroarch with GL, then the renderer will automatically use GL (regardless of the core option) and same with Vulkan, you have to set Vulkan as the driver version as well. And holding Ctrl locks me from using another command. With Mednafen PSX HW the renderer always defaults to your retroarch driver that is set. I had to use a script in AutoHotKey because Alt+Space kept opening Duckstation's menus. My experience with standalone Duckstation is that it doesn't override Windows shortcuts when using a keyboard. I recommend SwanStation over all others īy default SwanStation does shader compilation archiving, so the screen may be black for up to 2 min (depending on chosen settings and computer capability) the first time the game is launched, after the emulator settings are changed and after video driver update or its settings are redone. PCSX ReARMed only needs a single BIOS and will use scph5501.bin Windows 8 and newer will work, but their use is discouraged unless Mednafen is running in fullscreen mode(for video lag and quality reasons).
